Words of Advice and Caution

If you are new to backgammon it's hard to imagine how much skill is involved in playing the game well. Here is a few pointers that could prove valuable:

1) If you are new to the game play for fun-money (just points, no money involved) or very low stakes

2) If you keep losing to one opponent is more likely he is better than you, than you just being unlucky

3) Never play for more than you can afford to lose and still feel comfortable

4) Read a book about backgammon to up your skills
